In a nut shell:
>Engine out
>purple stuff degreaser full strength with a scrub brush on handle
>Wipe down all to-be painted surfaces with laquer thinner
>Unbolt and pull to center of e-bay or remove everything that you can. Tape off rest.
>Use scotchbrite red pad to prep surface
>Use sandpaper for areas that require paint/rust removal or fairing

Painting
I used a single stage enamel (Dupont) and painted down to frame rail. The frame rail was sprayed black from a can. Just choose a good quality paint.
3 coats and walk away. It looks crowded in the e-bay but it wasn't that bad. Much of the taped off stuff can be moved around while painting to get the nooks and crannies. With the engine in now you can't see most of the painted areas anyway.
